No more shots today! (plus recall news)

We have filled our schedule for today. Please call tomorrow morning for any appointments on our remaining H1N1 stock. I know many of you are disappointed and upset that you could not get in today. Here are some other H1N1 options-

Please check out:

The CPMC H1N1 clinic-
CPMC will be holding a special clinic to give the H1N1 vaccine to Pregnant women, anyone who gives care to a small child ( including expectant dads) and children over 4. This clinic will be held on December 21st 10am-7 pm
3700 California Street lobby level conference room C),

Care Clinic on 14th Street,
They are giving the mist on a walk in basis from 3:30-5:00 pm Monday through Thursday
Their phone number is 864-4444 and the address is 508A 14th street. They _may_ also have a small amount of shots.

The San Francisco Mass Vaccination clinic
SF public health department will be having a H1N1 vaccination clinic at the Bill Graham Auditorium on December 22 from 10am -7pm
This will be for anyone considered high risk. This includes all children from 6 months through 24 year of age.
They will give the second dose to anyone who has had the first one prior to December 1st.

In other news about the three ring circus that is H1N1-
A lot of calls this morning about the recall of pediatric H1N1.

Just to put everyone at ease. This is _not_ a safety recall.

The lot of H1N1 pediatric we received here at Noe Valley Pediatrics was _NOT_ included in the recall.
Our lot number was-
UTO23FA

Here is a link to the CDC website for anyone who got pediatric shots at another clinic.

http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/vaccination/syringes_qa.htm

What are the lot numbers affected by this recall?

Vaccine doses with the following lot numbers are included in the recall:

0.25 ml pre-filled syringes, 10-packs (NDC # 49281-650-25, sometimes coded as 49281-0650-25):
UT023DA
UT028DA
UT028CB

0.25 ml pre-filled syringes, 25-packs (NDC # 49281-650-70, sometimes coded as 49281-0650-70):
UT030CA

The CDC is _not_ recommending re-doing any shots even if your child got two doses of the "below rec. potency" recalled lot.

Love and health to all!

Nurse Charity
